There’s one more thing worth knowing: although we’re not officially a skin cancer clinic, we play a key role in detection and treatment. Our doctors regularly identify suspicious lesions in people attending for cosmetic treatment here in the sun-drenched Whitsundays. No nurse-led clinic or beauty clinic can do that.

Through word of mouth and community support, Whitsunday Cosmedics Skin Clinic has grown from a small offering within a general practice to a dedicated, independently operating skin clinic.

Our team includes experienced doctors, nurses and dermal therapists, all committed to the highest standards of evidence-based practice and patient-centred care.
At the helm is Dr Melissa McCann, a highly experienced GP with additional qualifications in both aesthetic medicine and skin cancer care. She has been treating patients in this community since 2012, and many have been coming back ever since.
All practitioners performing laser treatments are fully trained and laser-licensed.
All consultations and treatment plans are overseen by experienced doctors with training and qualifications in aesthetic and laser medicine.
